Try calling the KS state bar association for a recommendation. Their contsct information is here - http://www.ksbar.org/ .

Also you can try www.lawyers.com 's Find a Lawyer area to see which Wichita bk lawyers are certified in bankruptcy. It's no guartantee, but at least you know those lawyers take their bk practice seriously enough to shell out the cash to take and pass the cert exam.

Be careful when interviewing the bk trustees in your local court who also represent private clients. Trustees are often excellent and very desireable bk lawyers to represent you, but if you interview every trustee in your local court to find one to retain, that taints the local trustee pool and forces the bk judge to bring an outside trustee to take your case when you do file. This makes no one happy.

I asked for attorney names, not a trustee who also represents. *shrug* Worked well for me.
