Purchasing a Car while in Ch 13

In light of the economic woes, can you still get a car while in CH 13?

Yes, but you need permission first You'd need to file a Motion to Incur Debt (or similar motion for your District). This would be sent to the court and the Trustee with a very good case for why you need a new car.

If your current was in an accident which totaled it, you could also do a Motion to Substitute Collateral (more complex and not guaranteed).

When I was in a 13 we was approoved by the trustee to purchase but couldn't find anyone to finance us. So good luck

Also, try the really small places that state your job is your credit, alot of these places can get you a car.
