    401k exempt?

Is my husbands 401k expempt? he pays into it $328.50, and his gross income a month is $8214

he mentioned can he exempt his guns, as being his 401k? Since the 401k is in the toilet.

(he's an engineer, so very analytical that way)

The 401(k) itself (its value) is 100% exempt. He seems to be contributing 4% which is around the company match (I presume). I see no issues with the continued contributions as they are not "disposable monthly income".

No. The only thing exempt is a qualified plan as defined by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).
