    Case Complete in Wisconsin!!!!

I took your advice (thank you @lrprn) and got squeaky! I know my lawyer is useless (high volume that vanishes) so I emailed the Trustee office directly!

Here is the reply I got today:

Your case is indeed completed. We will send your employer a letter immediately asking them to stop taking deductions from your paychecks. Any funds we may receive from your employer from this point forward will be refunded directly to you. The balance on hand on your case right now is $1,353.77. A refund check will be issued in this amount to you during our monthly disbursement which will be 8-19-09 this month. This refund check will be mailed to you within 7-10 days after 8-19-09 (possibly sooner). We will send a notice of the completion of your case to the court. The court will send out the Order of Discharge within 30-45 days. You will receive a Final Report & Account on your case only after all of the checks have cleared on your case. This report lists all of your creditors and shows you how much each one was paid. I hope this is the info you were looking for.

    Today is a wonderful day!!!!

The light at the end of the tunnel is finally, finally the way out!!

Thank you! Nest egg is right! That is going straight into my savings account!

Plus I want to try to sock away a good portion of what I was paying to the Trustee. I need about a dozen eggs in my nest!

Can you all see the big smile on my face??

Oh believe me, I will be celebrating for the next several weeks but it won't cost me much!

Celebrating for me no longer includes going to the bar or casino, buying a new outfit, going for steak at a fancy restaurant or any of my former ways!

I am having a beer right now here at home, the weather is beautiful so I may go for a bike ride and snap a few pics, or maybe a walk around the lake in town, or read the next chapter of my book. I am thinking about driving to Chicago this weekend to see my boyfriend, he is working down there and I have not seen him in a month! Yup I think I will visit him!

I quit smoking almost 2 years ago (that is how I stayed afloat in my CH 13 with the price of gas) so I have the money for gas to go there.

All in all I am a much happier person, healthier and oh so much stronger person now that I have finished this without failing. And believe me there were several occasions where I was not sure I would make it. Like the night before the very first payment was to be withheld, my hot water heater died! I think I almost committed suicide that night. Instead I heated water on the stove until a friend looked at it and fixed it with a $20 thermostat!

I did this the hard way with absolutely no nest egg whatsoever. The need to figure out a way without a credit card really worked for me. I did not even find this website or 13datacenter until I was 35 months into my 36 month plan! I was a bit depressed and in denial but now I am totally the winner!

I guess you could say Chapter 13 bankruptcy is a lot like old age, it is brutal and not for wimps!

While it may not be the case for members of this forum (probably BECAUSE OF members of this forum), keep in mind that only about a third of Chapter 13 filers successfully complete their cases. You are a member of the elite debtors who fulfill their obligations to the best of our ability!
Sure, I'd rather be independently wealthy, but being a responsible debtor according to the law is not a small accomplishment.
                Take a bow!

                  Thank you! Bow taken!

No kidding on how hard this is to finish! You must change your lifestyle or you will definitely not make it. At least honestly! I feel good about being able to make those changes and I can sleep at night because I did this by the book!

My boyfriend just called and he will be home here about 6pm tomorrow night! Life is totally good now!!!

One more thing...the members of this board were a lifesaver for me. I would love to squash my lawyer because he was that useless! I found out everything I needed to know here.

Thank you all for all the information and support I found here! It truly made the last six months tolerable for me!

Today my employer received the order to 'stop' my payroll deduction!!! And it was received in time to be removed from next weeks payroll!!!

This is the best news ever!!!

                          Life is definitely good!!

Thank you for the Happy Dance! I told our payroll person about it because she wanted me to celebrate, but I said this is just too personal to share with co-workers! The Hamster Happy Dance is enough for me!

I am almost there also (hopefully).

Congrats... I hope I have a happy ending like you as well. I called my attorney a few days ago to find about my case as well (I entered in 12/29/06). I checked the 13datacenter and my status is Z- about to close. My attorney said this looks like the last month and I had to wait for a letter from the Trustee. So I got the Trustee's phone number and called them Friday. They said I had to have my attorney request a payoff. The girl put me on hold and came back and said my Chapter 13 had ended and that they would send a letter to my attorney, and to the court, and send a letter to my Employer to stop my wage garnishment. I was so happy I called my attorney to see if they could verify the info I was given. They told me that they have received a case number which means the 13 is now over and I should receive a letter within 2 weeks confirming that. What I wanted to know is what does that balance on hand means? Will I get that back? It is $2690.00 and they just took out another $415.30 out of my check yesterday. I am in Charlotte N.C any info would be helpful

                              About to close

                              Congrats outworld09! You are there!

Here is what happened to me. I had a balance on hand of $1300 approx. and the Trustee had to do a reconciliation first to make sure everything was paid and cleared. Once that was done I got a check in the mail for the entire balance on hand. A couple times they re-swizzled things on 13datacenter but it cleared up the next day, so don't panic if you see strange things happening on there! I think it took about 3 weeks to get that money.

Believe me, you are going to enjoy having your life back!

Congrats on a job well done!
