    SWAPPING an auto in 13

I know we are not allowed to buy or sell anything in a 13 without approval.
But what about an EVEN swap on a vehicle?
My DH has an offer to swap his PAID FOR 2007 Chevy truck for a 2008 Accord.
He wants to do this so we can save on gas, tires, insurance in our 13.
It is a TRUE even swap with the dealer, so its not like we are selling something, getting something less and hiding the money. Theres like a $43 difference!

You said your DH's 2007 Chevy truck is paid for. Did the dealer say he/she would make an even swap for the 2008 Accord? (I'm asking because I'm wondering how a a 2007 truck is valued the same as a 2008 Accord.) Will you have to take out a loan - even a small one - to get the 2008 Accord?

The 2007 truck is still a secured asset in your bk so you'll need your trustee's prior permission to work out the swap. Call your lawyer and discuss it.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

Yes it is paid for. It was paid for in cash in 2007 with a little money he inherited. It was a top of the line fully loaded full size truck that now only has 30K miles on it.
The Accord is a 4 cylinder, cloth car with 60000 miles on it.
No, there is NO loan of any type to be taken out. They actually will owe US the $43......
      I'll call the atty.
