Filed BK 13 today, I should have my case # and trustee name by 4pm eastern! So now I can officially add a signature with all the dates! (LOL) You all are amazingly helpful.........I would forget to breathe if it wasn't for this forum!! While I am sad and dissapointed that I have allowed myself to come to this, I am relieved that something is being done....

I agree lrprn, it is hard to declare yourself bankrupt. But once you realize there is nothing else left to do and accept it, it makes the decision easier.

The Chapter 13 plan can be tough. You should be able to get most things you need, but have to learn to really distinguish between what you need and what you want. That is the toughest thing I am going through right now.

Stay positive, and get on here and vent when you need to and feel flustrated. You'll get flustrated that the lawyer doesn't call you back soon enough, you'll get flustrated waiting to be confirmed, you'll get flustrated that it is taking so long, you'll get flustrated that the trustee doesn't cash checks often enough and you'll set there wondering if your check got lost in the mail.

You'll go through periods of emotional ups and downs, mainly downs for filing. Just think of things that will get you through those time.

When it gets tough, just take whatever debt you owe when you filed, multipy it 2.2, and that is close to how much your saving in the 5 year plan. It starts making sense to struggle a bit, the outcome is worth the current sacrifice.
