Helpless, I feel terrible for you. The intention of Ch 13 is to take all your disposable income and then some BS like this comes along. No wonder so many Ch 13 plans don't work. I'm so sorry for you. Hope you find an extra $20 in your pocket or lying on the ground.

It usually is mandatory wage order in Ohio. Just will cough up the $4.40 every month to send it with usps confirmation. Hey that is at least 10% of what it is costing me this month!!
It's terrible what you're going thru, Helpless! I feel for you, truely I do!! You get in streaks where it seems like everything that can go wrong always does, and you cannot catch a break. I know the feeling well.

The $4.40 you're talking about, are you thinking of sending your payment Priority mail every month??

Just a thought for you,........... Ask the Post Office if you can get the Green Delivery Confirmation sticky put on a regular mail envelope. If you can, then you can get your costs down to about $1/mo for mailing your plan payments. The Postal Service seems to take better care of stuff that they have to track.

so far no issues here - mail it on the 8th - due on the 9th... process on the 9th every time.
Now ya'll got me worried a tiny bit...
I live in Missouri and actually mail the payment to a PO Box in Memphis TN. Yes, it is kinda weird. Usual lead time from when I send a payment to cashing the check is about 7 days.

Are you able to send a regular check, or are you sending cashiers check/money order?

I send a regular check, first payment had to be by certified check and then once plan was confirmed, we could pay by check. The $4.40 is for express mail with confirmation. I see that there are other cheaper options. Thanks. Here's just hoping that my first check doesn't go through tonight as the stop payment takes effect tomorrow. I don't understand how in this day and age it takes 24 business hours for a cancel check to take place. Doesn't seem right, but that is just my luck. Thanks for all the advice. I really have been fortunate up until this point. No problems. I just don't want the payment to be late so that I don't raise any issues with my plan. I did call and left a message with the woman that manages our plan that I had in deed cancel the check per her advice and that I next day mailed her another one. To cover by butt, I wrote on the memo line my case number and under that that it was a replacement check for the check that was never received. Figured I better, just in case.

My first payment I mailed a personal check. The payments I have made since I used the bill pay service. They write a check and mail it to the trustee, when he cashes it, it shows up in my bank account.

Wish my employee withholding comes soon, I hate having to keep up with it, but on the other hand, I know the trustee has it when he cashes the check.

Trustee received check yesterday and cleared my bank last night. Thank goodness that nightmare is over. THIS will not happen again. Thanks for your support. Nice to have somewhere to go and vent.
