    Two jobs

My chapter 13 is based on the two jobs I worked. I have just recently filed and have not met with the trustee. Will I be required to quick my second job?

Hi Molly - are you asking if the trustee will require you to quit (rather than 'quick') your second job?
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

    06/01/06 - Filed Ch 13
    06/28/06 - 341 Meeting
    07/18/06 - Confirmation Hearing - not confirmed, 3 objections
10/05/06 - Hearing to resolve 2 trustee objections
01/24/07 - Judge dismisses mortgage company objection
    09/27/07 - Confirmed at last!
06/10/11 - Trustee confirms all payments made
    08/10/11 - DISCHARGED !

    10/02/11 - CASE CLOSED
Countdown: 60 months paid, 0 months to go

      2nd job

Yes, I meant quit. So sorry. My mind is so full of questions.

Perfectly understandable - we've all been there ourselves.

Your 13 plan is based on the income from both of your jobs, so the trustee will NOT ask you to quit your second job because job #2 means more money paid to your creditors. If your plan is confirmed and includes both jobs, you will need to keep very close to that amount of income coming in for the duration of your plan. If you lose one of your jobs and can't quickly replace it, you can ask your lawyer to file requesting to amend your plan payments because your circumstances have changed.

Just curious...why did you think the trustee might ask you to quit job #2?

          Two jobs

My total income from both jobs is less than $40,000 a year. I took a second job in order to pay some of my unsecured debts. Someone told me I probably would have to quit my second job because of the disposable income.
          I was just curious.

Molly, what state did you file in? Is "less than $40,000" below the median income allowed for your state? (Just trying to sort out why you filed Ch 13 rather than Ch 7.)
