    FICO Score for Employment

Does anyone know how bankruptcy affect your job search and what seems to be an acceptable FICO score in the employment market place?

Not sure if you would be able to get a job at the US Mint or with the FBI if that is in your hopes. It would also more than likely prevent you from holding certain jobs that require "security clearances".

Yikes. I was hoping that it would be viewed in a better light. Now, my next question is does anyone know what an acceptable FICO is for life insurance, car insurance and mortgage insurance. I've been told that they won't touch you unless you have at least a 700 FICO. Does anyone know if this is the case?

I have been selling insurance for about ten years now. I have not yet had a client declined because of their credit rating.

My best friend is an insurance broker. She said BK's are OK. Slow pays, they never underwrite those people. That's people who consistently pay late, on everything, all the time.

You may be charged higher rates right after filing BK, but with good credit reporting, that will change within a couple of years.

After my Ch 7 I decided to change car insurance companies because mine raised my rates. I went with another company that didn't even care about my credit score. I get great rates (lower than my pre-BK rates with the first company) with them and have never had any problems.
