    Claim Transfer? I am confused...

I was wondering if someone knew a little bit more about this....I have a student loan with Wells Fargo on which Wells had filed a claim for. As of today, they filed a transfer of claim to GLHEC, Great Lakes. When I look on their website, it is showing my student loan in 'Paid Default' and saying the following.........The loan status is: 'Paid Default'-- See NSLDS record at www.nslds.ed.gov.

What does this mean? I am completely confused on this issue and on what they are doing. I have NEVER been late on a payment.

    Thanks for the help

Since you've filed Ch 13 and I assume you listed your student loans as an unsecured creditor on your forms, sometimes after notification some student loan holders will automatically place your student loans into a kind of holding pattern (forbearance) where no payments are required to be made during your Ch 13 but interest accrues. Could this be what happened in your case? (See https://www.wellsfargo.com/student/l...nt/forbearance for specific information about forbearance with Wells Fargo student loans.)

Since you said you've never been late on your loan payment, I assume you have been paying on the loan during your Ch 13 - correct? Can you confirm that your payments have been recorded appropriately and your balance is going down accordingly? Could payments have been lost or mis-recorded during the switchover of your loan owner? You are entitled to an administrative review of your case - have you requested that yet? (Just some ideas about how you might proceed at this point.)

Hope you can get your loan straightened out soon - keep us posted on what happens and good luck!
