    341 OVER.....well, almost

So we survived our 341 meeting today. The trustee asked for our ID and SS cards. Asked us if we intend on keeping our home (yes) and our cars (yes). He DID ask us how we "ended up in this situation". We told him. He seemed pretty understanding....quite personable actually. He NEVER asked to see our recent bank statements or paystubs. He did ask us if we filed our 2006 taxes (yes, but after we filed BK). He DIDN'T ask us if we received a refund. However, he asked us to fax a copy of our tax filing paperwork to the atty for submission.

By last year's gross income, we are over the median income for Michigan. However, I worked TONS of overtime last year, as we were short a nurse in our clinic. We hired an additional nurse last summer, then the overtime stopped. So hopefully he will just consider the past 6 months income, like he's supposed to and not make a federal case (no pun intended) out of it.

So, nothing on PACER. I'm sure he will do nothing until he sees our tax info. So, I'm not "doin' a tap dance" just yet....still keeping fingers crossed.

Luckily, our atty seems to have a pretty good relationship with this Trustee. He even told us "you guys must be livin' right...you got the best trustee and the best judge". I hope he's right.

    Hoping for brighter skies ahead....

      Congrats, Broke!!

I think, if I were you,.......... I'd write up a little Statement about the $$$'s you earned on last year's pay. Explain, just like you did here, that you worked OT to cover a gap until a new employee could be hired. Maybe give the date range of the time period and a general $$$ figure for the extra amount you earned last year.

Dig out your old pay stubs if you still have them. Or contact your payroll Dept and see if they can help you. Maybe they'll have the date range and the $$$'s for you.

Send the statement to your attny, along with your filed taxes.
