Purchase the Nolo book for Ch 7 - http://www.nolo.com/product.cfm/Obje...51A79/213/161/ . You can purchase a paper copy or download an electronic version to your hard drive. It's $29.99 + tax - well worth every penny!

Another good book about filing bankruptcy on your own is Daniel Sitarz's Personal Bankruptcy Simplified - here its link at Amazon.com - http://www.amazon.com/Personal-Bankr...3421841&sr=1-5

Here are a few links to reliable websites that explain bankruptcy very well -

Filing Ch 7 without a lawyer is a risk, even when you believe you have a simple no-asset case. After you've researched bankruptcy and have a list of questions, it's a good idea to schedule free consultations with 3-4 bk lawyers in your area. You may find that when the dust settles, you really need a lawyer to file because of the specifics in your case. And if nothing else, you'll have the opportunity to ask questions (although I wouldn't volunteer you have no intention of retaining a lawyer to file).

And trying to file Ch 13 pro se under the revised bk law is a HUGE risk, period. 90% of filers that have tried it in the last year have their cases dismissed because of filing errors. Don't even think about it.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
