    Stupid question

Does the trustee or the judge make the decision to close the case after discharge?
Sometimes life make you deal with ugly and hateful people ,just think of them as sand paper. They may scratch you and rub you the wrong way but eventually you end up smooth and polished and the sand paper becomes old and worn out.

Generally, the trustee makes that decision. If the case is designated a no asset case, then it should close at or around the same time as discharge. If its an asset case, then the case stays open until the trustee is done administering the case (i.e. getting proofs of claims from creditors, paying claims from the non-exempt assets, etc).
