Does the trustee or the judge make the decision to close the case after discharge?

Generally, the trustee makes that decision. If the case is designated a no asset case, then it should close at or around the same time as discharge. If its an asset case, then the case stays open until the trustee is done administering the case (i.e. getting proofs of claims from creditors, paying claims from the non-exempt assets, etc).Last edited by HHM; 07-06-2007, 07:43 AM.
