We had our 341 yesterday and it was smooth sailing. I was only a little nervous. Thanks to all the posts here, self-education, and my atty I knew what to expect and was prepared. No creditors showed up and the whole thing took about 5 minutes. The major questions revolved around my tax return. Apparently last year when I used the tax software I somehow put in a $3600 deduction for "Oil and Gas exploration"... The trustee found it and asked about it. We all got a chuckle out of that but it was not big issue.
I know there are really rabid trustees out there, but if you're an honest debtor and don't have any shady dealings (asset transfers to family members) or last minute cash advances...you will be ok.
A word of caution to those who have not yet filed. Don't think you can hide things and outsmart a trustee. This is their job.. Although our 341 went very smooth and low key, the 2 cases ahead of us were asked questions in depth about transfers of assets to family members in the past year, and other irregularities. I don't think they will have as good an outcome as us.
To those filing pro se...Know what you are doing and be thorough!!! The lady ahead of us filed pro se and had errors in her paperwork. Although the trustee was polite, you could tell by the questions he was asking that he was really going to get to the bottom of her asset listings, expenses, etc...
So now it's the 60day wait. But since I stopped using CC's in November last year and tried to stay current until the end my atty does not expect any bumps in the road at this point.
Thanks again to all for advice and just sharing their experiences. It really helped.
