Yes, do all that. But DEFINITELY do not use a paperclip to hold three one hundred dollar bills to your underwear.

This COULD get you in trouble, I am not a lawyer, but that was my OWN experience.

    (Heeeeeee!!)

        Whew! Thank you IRPRN!

Now, I DO have another question .....

I have 2 storage areas full of stuff from when I moved from my home in Alabama. It's mainly boxes of clothes, dishes, some ficus trees, etc. It's just so much in there but nothing of real value. Everything in there is paid in full and not with the credit that I'm filing bankruptcy with. I do have an armoir in there that is about $300 and a coffee table that is $100 or so. It's probably not even worth that now. What do I do about that?
I know I'll have to talk to atty because I pay $150 a month to rent the spaces and will have to put that down on my means test. Should I try to sell some of that stuff and get rid of it now?

These household belongings should be included in your lump sum household estimated value.

It depends on the trustee you draw after filing. Some will accept this cost, some may question it. Same for selling the items before filing. A local experienced bankruptcy attorney can tell you what will be ok in this situation.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

Why would you pay $150 a month for storage of stuff that has no value? Just curious. I would save the $150 and purchase new when I got the room to actually use it. JMHO I would sell the stuff and save the money. S&T

because a lot of that "stuff" is personal items that I can't get rid of!!! I have a TON of clothes, dishes, momentos, and some things that I love ( mirrors etc )
I dont want to get rid of any of it, just like I dont want to get rid of my car.
It's not junk! I built my own home 7 years ago and bought everything brand new then, sold home in 2003 and it's been in storage. Most of that is brand new stuff but it's probably not worth much to anyone but me. Why the hell would I go out and buy new stuff again? LOL
Only some of those things like the ficus tree and cocktail table, and maybe some dishes etc, I can give away to charity, but like I said, alot of it I love.
