    Making copies

    Good evening folks.

I am making copies of a lot of items.
Does the US trustee ask for copies along with the local trustee?

I want to keep one copy for me but should I make 3 copies of everything?

    1 for U.S. Trustee official
    1 for Local Trustee official
    1 for myself?

    Please give me advice.
    Thank you guys.

Have you filed yet? I would make 3 copies of everything you give to the lawyer. One for him, one for you, one to file.
    Filed Business Chapter 7: 7/11/07
    341 Meeting: 8/8/07 Asset Case
    US Trustee reviewed case/resolved 9/14/07
    Discharged: 10/11/07 Closed: 11/2/08

I meet with a lawyer on Tuesday.
If I give him 1 copy of everything, and the US trustee and or the Local trustee requests copies, will he supply them with his copy or will I need to supply a copy?

      Thank you.

Typically your lawyer will pass along everything that your trustee or the US trustee asks for. If it's something your lawyer doesn't have, then he'll tell you what is needed and pass it on once you provide it to him/her.

After you hire a bk lawyer, you work through your bk lawyer for all circumstances related to your case. You don't make contact with the trustee or creditors yourself unless your lawyer specifically advises you to do so.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

Unless your case is 'interesting' or you win the lottery and get picked for audit , the US Trustee does not butt in to take over the case. The Trustee works on the case, submit it to the US Trustee and the US Trustee signs off, and Judge puts his JohnHancock on it and you are home free.

The question is : Is yours a typical run of the mill BK case or is it a tricky case? Your lawyer can answer that.

We kept a copy for us and gave one to the lawyer. He scanned everything into his computer and gave us his copies back. He now has a digital copy for the trustee or anyone else who wants to see it and can quickly email it over.

You wouldn't need more than 3 copies.

              1 for you to file
              1 for the lawyer
              1 extra just in case.

Have 3 separate folders, put in 3 copies, and 3 labels.... and keep/maintain for at least (>= 3) 3 years!?
