    Loan in BK

Ok guys i have been doing good until recently. My Partner is really really sick and i have spent money to get him back to health. However i need to buy 2 or 3 more months of medicine and i am all out of funds. I cant borrow from my family as they are in somewhat a tight bind. I wanted to know if there is anyone that can give me a small 500 loan without having to go to a payday loan place i dont ever want to step foot in one of those places. I just need it for about 2 months i have calculated what i can afford and that's what i can comfortably afford. Does anyone know if i can get a small loan anywhere?

    Thanks

Hi. I am sorry to hear about your partner's health. I am a nurse. Have you talked to the social worker at your local hospital or clinic? Many times there are programs that can help supply medications. Also another idea is to ask for assistance from a local church or ask your pharmacist for any ideas. Many times the drug companies will also have programs that your pharmacist can help you learn about or that the social worker can tell you about it. There may be another answer here other than a loan. Keep us posted!

We are trying for a program however this is going to take about a month or 2 to get approved. and he cannot be without medicine for that long. I made a mistake changing jobs as the new insurance is giving me a hell of a time. So i have to pay for this out of pocket.

Hello, as a type 1 diabetic I totally understand how important meds are. If his condition is that serious, there are programs out there that can hellp and even give you free meds. Walmart has a program where you can get most meds for $4. There are clinics out there that also offer free meds or direct you to services that can help.

Because his life depends on these meds their are programs out there for him and it is not based on income. Government agencies just can't let you die, they will have to fight lawsuits and such.

if you don't mind me asking where are you located and I can help you do a search. Trust me, been there, done that... there is help.

Here's a link to the medicines that Walmart sells for $4. There's quite a few on the list.

I heard that Publix grocery stores have some kind of low-cost prescription program as well, but since there's not a Publix near me, I don't have any experience with them.

Also, you might talk to the doctor and tell him/her the situation. The doctor may offer you enough samples to get you by. One of my doctors gave me 6 months of medication for free.

And yes, some drug manufacturers offer a free/discounted program for people who can't afford their medicines.

Sorry to hear of the trouble with medical, that is a big problem . I understand how hard it is too to get insurance as I've been looking lately and with my back condition it seems almost outside my reach.

However you might could try some various church organizations in your area. They might be willing to give you the funds necessary to buy the medicine to tide you over. They might also be helpful in getting you into programs. Another way to go about it might be to seek their help in food, and spend money on medicine rather than food.

            Good luck
