Sure it would be great if student loans could be discharged too so there would be no debt at all left after our bankruptcies....but by law, they can't be discharged. By saying the slate is cleaner, I'm referring to the loans and cc debt that we DON'T owe any more after our Ch 13s are completed. Also we aren't drowning in debt and swirling the financial drain the way we were before filing either.
The difference between us is that you and nc73 are looking at the situation in a negative way (that you still have any debt is bad) where I'm encouraging everyone to see things in a more positive way (I may still have debt, but I sure have a lot less of it!
). Does that make sense?
