Coma did just that.
Coma originally filed a Ch 7, but voluntarily Converted to a 13 to save a car, I think. Then, they were reassigned to a new duty station resulting in a loss of pay. They decided to surrender the vehicle they'd worked so hard to save. They Converted back to Ch 7 about 18 months to 2 years into their Plan.
If the OP gets pushed into a Ch 13, and circumstances change drastically,.............. Say one of them looses a job, becomes disabled and cannot work, suffers the death of a spouse,........... They can reapproach the Court to Convert back to Ch 7 if their Ch 13 Plan causes undue hardship on the Debtor or the Debtor's dependents.
