I have to go to another 341!

My attorney thought that the continuation for my 341 meeting would be canceled once I turned in the register for the deed to my house. Now today the court calls my attorney's office to let them know I have to attend because the trustee has more questions to ask me.

I'm freaking out. I didn't want to have to go to another 341 meeting. That really is the sort of thing a person only wants to happen one time.

Now I'm wondering what he's going to ask me.

Sorry to hear that you have to go through a second 341, Kari . Does your lawyer have any idea what this is about?

Maybe he is just trying to cover all his bases (and a$$) because you are an audited case. Just remember that you're not a criminal, even though it feels like such an interrogation! Also, maybe it's just because of your car situation (weren't you pretty far in the negative?) and he wants to get info on that. Try not to stress about it- I will be thinking positive thoughts for you!

I just got back and I think it's over now. I just refinanced my house a couple months ago and the trustee wanted to ask my if I'd received any money above and beyond what it costed to refinance and cover the loan. I told him no and it was over.

My attorney did freek my out before I talked to the trustee. He said he hadn't realized that I had refinanced within the last 90 days (which of course I did tell him). He said the trustee had the right to strip the mortgage from the mortgage company forcing me to refinance or he might try to get the mortgage company to give him an amount of money so they could keep the mortgage. I was really upset but them when I talked to the trustee it didn't seem like he's intending to do anything like that.

So - i think everything should be ok now. Yay!
