    Discharge soon?

    Hi all,
This was posted on my pacer account November 27th:

Trustee's notice of intent to file final report. The trustee in this case reports that the estate is fully liquidated and that a final account will be filed soon.

    Also this:

NOTICE TO PROFESSIONALS TO FILE FEE APPLICATIONS
    TO ALL APPOINTED PROFESSIONALS:
I am now ready to file a final report and make distributions to creditors in this case. Please file appropriate applications for fees and expenses due and owing. The applications, together with supporting documentation as may be required, should be filed with the clerk of the court, and sent to me and the office of the U>S> trustee within thirty days.

My case was an asset case because of $750.00 I had paid to Discover in 30 days prior to filing. Does this mean that the trustee has gotten the $750.00 back from Discover, and that creditors have to pay a fee to get their share of my big $750.00 estate?

Does all this mean my case will be discharged soon?

    Thanks for any replies,
    Kathy

Yes, the trustee got that preferential payment back from Discover and is preparing to dispense it to your creditors.

Sure looks like it - congratulations, Kathy!! Hang in there - should be over as soon as your trustee disburses the money and finishes the final accounting.

The irony to me is that all of this cost far more to do all this than the original $750....how the bk law is implemented sure is goofy sometimes, isn't it?
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

Thanks for the reply Irprn! That's what I was thinking, I think about 10 creditors filed claims which would give them each $75 before any fees or administrative costs. Hardly seems worth it.
I don't think my attorney thought that the trustee would go after this money.
I'm just happy she didn't go after the house, as we had about $12,000 in equity that was not exempt.

Oh well, life is getting much better!
