This is just a "been there done that" post. If it makes you feel any better, we had several credit cards etc that we stopped paying on in 2003 and kept getting those letters & calls from different collection agencies. Fast forward to May 08...we just now filed and had yet to actually have any sort of legal action taken against us for any credit cards.

It will hurt your credit to not pay for an extended amount of time, but right now, I wouldn't say getting any credit would be at the top of your list w/ that many cards. Once we filed and cleaned up our credit reports, our scores starting jumping up at a good rate of speed. It's been just over a month, and they have gone up about 100 pts.

    Good luck!

Well, I just got a "almost" new car. My Escape no longer had a warrenty or GAP Protection on the loan so if i would've lost it in an accident, I'd still owe what was left. It also had 85,000 miles and I've had too much bad stuff about the transmissions on them and a friend at work owned two of them and the transmission went out on both after 100,000 miles.

The car I have now has 35,000 miles on it and I have GAP Protection as well as a 2 year warrenty left on it. Payments are $65 more, which isn't that much more for what I'm getting.

My only other option would've been to get a "buy here pay here" deal after bankrupcy and as far as I drive to work everyday, I need something I know I can trust.

As long as it gets better gas mileage you can easily afford the extra 65 dollars.

I own a 2003 Honda Oddesey and have had transmission issues from day one. I bought the Honda because I was under the impression that they were better than American cars, but that is not true. I have an oldsmobile with 209K that runs perfect! I wish I did not buy into the Hondas are better line that people fed me.

We have a 2004 Ody, you need to do a search on the tranny trouble with that model. Honda replaced our tranny and asked us to pay 10% of the bill. We were definately out of warranty when it happened. Do a search, you will find a ton of info and then contact a dealer nearby armed with the knowledge that they shoud fix/replace that tranny for no/small cost. We paid about $350 for them to replace the tranny, which was around $3500. The tranny problem is a known problem with the Ody, there was a recall and I believe that the '03 may have been included.

            Good luck

We had a Ford car, nothing but problems. We had a Chevy truck, no problems. Now we have 2 Lincolns, bought brand new..no problems.

Our all time favorite car was our Volvo we had years ago. That car lasted forever.
