    2009 new rules???

    Just went and did some first time interviews with some bkl's and I think im going to wait until next year after I get my income check return so i have time to get money get organized and get 6 months out from no cards and see if after 6 months Im having no problems with my house that i want to keep.. but back to my question does anyone know of any crazy new laws coming down the pipe that good get me in 2009? Any help would be great thanks for all yall time.

    I seriously doubt whether McCain or Obama is the next president if there will be any significant change in BK next year.

      Although I agree with JRScott, you just never know. All you can do is plan with what you know, but the rules could very well change. Especially in the volatile economy that we have right now. And just for the record, the change does not have to come through a major bk law, it could just be attached to a tax law or other legislation as a bribe to other politicians for their vote.

      Just my thoughts!

        It took years to get the new BK law into effect in 2005. I remember when we filed in 2002 our attorney discussing the situation with us that the new law was brewing but held up due to various situations and it would eventually pass and it did, 3 1/2 years after we filed. So by the time anything is proposed, it could be years and years until passed. Don't bank on anything occuring in the near future and work with what is on the table in effect right now.
