Since her bk was just filed on August 13, she has plenty of time to get that done... though I too would recommend sooner rather than later. Technically speaking, she has 45 days from the date of her 341 to get it done and filed, so she's probably got close to two months to get that in.
Nolo Press book on filing Chapter 7, there are others too. (I have no affiliation with Nolo Press; just a happy customer.) Best wishes to you!
I may be asking a dumb question, but didn't the OP say they filed on Aug 13th? If that is true, then how is it that their case already shows a status of "awaiting discharge"?
1-2. Your 341 (Creditors Meeting) is scheduled for 9/15, and so far you are No Asset. The Trustee has to make a report, but that won't come until after the 341.
The 1 day#=6, I don't know--someone else probably does.
3. That looks normal, as it will be you and your local trustee. the UST may or may not be interested in your case. I wouldn't sweat it right now.
4. This flag looks like you have another payment to make to your attorney before your 341. If the boxes on the other items are NOT checked, I wouldn't worry about that either. You are dealing with a 'one-size-fits-all' form.
However, I still would get with the lawyer and ask him or her all of these questions. Good luck!
"To go bravely forward is to invite a miracle."
"Worry is the darkroom where negatives are formed."
I don't remember when the OP filed, but I am curious to how it says awaiting discharge and mine doesn't say that and I have 24 days to go until last day of objections.
My attorney filed 8/13 and then amended 8/14 due to a glitch. I'm sorry for all the posts and questions and for being a worry wart. It's just that I've been going through the worst time in my life and I'm nervous about this entire thing. For the past 3 years I've been under immense stress and so worried. I don't know what half of the stuff on my pacer account means, but that's what it says, awaiting discharge and awaiting trustee's report. My 341 is 9/15.
Filed Chapter 7: 8/13/08 341 Meeting: 9/15/08 Last Day To File Objections: 11/14/08 Discharged & Closed: 11/18/08
In the Case Summary, where it says Pending Status, it says: Awaiting Discharge, Awaiting Trustee's Report. I don't know why or how it says that nor what it really means, I'm just merely stating what it says.

I refuse to look at Pacer, too, just because I don't need this kind of stress. And don't worry about this being your 2nd bankruptcy...I had a previous one, and so did several people in front of me during my 341 meeting...we didn't get grilled or scolded...things happen and the trustee really could care less why you're filing again. He asked the standard questions and we were out in 5 minutes.
I would also advise getting the debt education course done early...IMO, it shows the trustee that you are involved in the process and not just doing it cause it's required. Our trustee even asked us what we thought of the course, so they seem to be interested in knowing if it has been beneficial to you.
Filed BK (Ch. 7) 6/2/08 Discharged!! 9/24/08 Closed..the end! 10/1/08
I understand your panic (really, I do), but before you freak out let's look at the facts.
Here's the law:
"The court will deny a discharge in a later chapter 7 case if the debtor received a discharge under chapter 7 or chapter 11 in a case filed within eight years before the second petition is filed."
My last filing was 5/4/00. I never knew my actual discharge date until I signed onto pacer, (8/16/00) they never sent me anything. I assumed it was 5/4/00. I should be ok, right????

I will never make a prediction that someone's case is "OK" or "not OK", but I will tell you that you are not ineligible for discharge based on the eight year rule. To be on the safe side, I would be prepared for this case to be scrutinized and I would definitely bring proof of the previous case filing date to the 341 hearing.
