Ok, so we haven't filed yet, probably will do in Sept or Oct., We have been getting these odd phones calls, like you have ben approved for a car loan, press 1 to deny or 2 to go forward, so now i feel that if i press one that it could be a Bait and Switch, like a creditor will erase and then add in will you be paying your bill. Could that. THen i get a call that you have won a trip to hilton, which is tied into AM'X cards. I just find it odd that all of sudden we haven't paid our cards in 1 month and now these tyoe of phone call... Does anyone else have these odd calls>

No, and maybe this is your lucky day to win a trip to blah blah??
Are you on the do-not-call list?? If not, these telemarketers have your number.
I think this is just a coincidence. Annoying, yes. But I LOVE telling these callers I am on a do-not-call, and why ARE they calling me?? Trouble understanding do not call???
They get off the phone pretty quick.
Another trick that works for me: 'No habla engles". And if they should call back with a spanish speaking rep, then it's "I don't speak Spanish".Last edited by BK2008; 08-17-2008, 08:43 AM.

All it takes is for you to give a phone number when asked upon checkout somewhere when purchasing an item or if you filled out a warranty card for an item and sent it in. Your name is probably just on several call listings and probably has nothing to do with your upcoming filing or being late one month. If you have caller ID, if you don't recognize the phone number, don't answer. Telemarketers never leave a message.Originally posted by jessegirl View PostOk, so we haven't filed yet, probably will do in Sept or Oct., We have been getting these odd phones calls, like you have ben approved for a car loan, press 1 to deny or 2 to go forward, so now i feel that if i press one that it could be a Bait and Switch, like a creditor will erase and then add in will you be paying your bill. I would not take any chance as any affirmative answer can and may be converted to a reaffirmation time line. Just my opinion, but, hang up, no words. 'HubIf I knew it all, would I be here?? We get all sorts of calls at my PT job. When one comes in I just hang up.
I actually think there are banks of computers programmed to dial phone numbers wether listed or not, because they progress to the next digit in the list."To go bravely forward is to invite a miracle."

Hehe...I thought it was funny that we (meaning me as well) would even consider being prompted to get a car loan via a random phone call. What an impulse buy.
Not only am I not a lawyer, the California BAR association has sent me numerous letters telling me not to even THINK about going to law school. In fact, the lay advice I provide is not even good. In the end remember, you get what you pay for, and here in BK land were not the best at paying.

if you don't want to entertain them just ignore it..some telemarketers are trying to fool their customer tellin' that they won blah blah but before you can claim your price you need to purchase the blah blah..Last edited by creditscore; 08-18-2008, 09:09 PM.
