Technically, if you have a way to e-file, you could file Oct. 16

Hey, get your own thread, this one has been hi-jacked!

Sorry.. I actually thought your question had been answered.. Didn't the discussion point towards buying money orders and keeping the cash out of your checking account? Or am I dreaming?

I asked the paralegal that I saw yesterday, and she said since we used the "wildcard" exemption on our cash, that it will be safe. That's about all I know though.. not much, but I am sorry about hi-jacking your thread.

          Sorry Scooby72,

Me too, didn't mean to get off off another subject..... SORRY....

As long as you file before midnight on Oct 16th your under the old laws. After that, the new ones.

Personally I would make sure that I had it filed in time to check Pacer and see if it had been assigned and set with a 341 meeting, just to make sure.

Use money orders and cash till after 341 meeting - best way.

You want no more than $100.00 in the checking account is what my lawyer told me. Less is best!!! Though I continued to write checks the whole time to pay bills. No problem...

Filing isn't hard, it's the WAITING................

          FORGIVE ME,

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
