    Getting concerned

    Hi all,

I'm a bit concerned. I canceled my on line payments with Bank of America yet they processed my monthly payment anyways. My line of credit which is tied to my checking account at my CU automatically gives me overdraft protection. I checked my CU account this morning on line and so far my line of credit has transferred $420.00 into my checking account to cover the payment for BOA and another $100.00 check I wrote before I retained my attorney, but they just cashed it over the past weekend.

Will this create a problem in my case? I have already changed banks and am only keeping enough in there to make my mortgage and car payments and a few extra dollars.

If you noticed your CU in writing, I believe you could have had that payment reversed. I believe you won’t be able to do that now if you quit the CU. ‘Hub
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

Close everything ASAP! This includes your checking, LOC, savings and anything else you have with the CU. You can try the letter like Angelina mentioned but my advice to is close everything now.
It's good you got another bank acct.
I made the mistake having my wife as a joint on our checking, so when it came time for me to file, USBank decided to go after my wife for a LOC I originally took out in my name (covered in the BK). To make a long story short - don't setup accts joint if you are filing alone and married. These banks have indeed mastered the art of Ebenezer Scrooge and will find any means to get their $$.
      1. If you think you will file BK, open a new bank acct (checking and/or savings).
      2. Once you file close your old bank accts (this includes all billpay, automatic pymt, etc)
      3. If you are joint ON ANYTHING and your spouse is not filing, GET THEM OFF THE ACCT. The banks will find them.

Yep close the current accounts before you get more into the hole. If already filed amend papers listing the accounts you close as possible creditors. Open new accounts....

gopher has very good advice above

O.K. My only auto pay I have is my car insurance and house payment. I am current on the house and will reaffirm when I file next month. However, I pay 3/4ths of my accounts online(the only way I could actually stay current). Will they try to debit my account without authorization? We have not told any of our creditors that we are filing. I was waiting until I paid my attorney and paid for my 341. However, we have not paid any of our CC bills since end of July. Any thoughts? I think I will try to log on and remove my bank acct info from all the websites anyway.

No I haven't filed yet. I just sent in my paperwork and final payment last week. I still haven't even gotten the petition back to fix any errors. Filing still seems like weeks away. I was able to delete my checking account from all my online pay accounts just now except for BOA ....sheesh !!!! They say they want a new withdrawal account before the current one can be deleted even though I canceled auto payments !!!

Is it recommended I close my accounts before I file or wait until the 341?

Thank you all so much for your help !!!!

              Gabriel
