Welcome to the forums
What was your gross income the last 6 months?
What is your current mortgage payment monthly?
What is your current car payment?
One thing to do is run by NADA.com and get a value for your car. You'll need that as you go forward with the process.
Don't worry we have all been here.May 31st, 2007: Petition Filed by my lawyer
July 2nd, 2007: 341 Meeting Held
September 4th, 2007: Discharged and Closed.

Keepmine is right. You can't live on $500 a month. Usually depending on the value, you can keep your car. Is it paid off? If not you can pay through or reaffirm. I'm not sure about PA but in FL we have a homestead right and only the mortgage holder can take your house.Originally posted by keepmine View PostLooks like Pa. lets you use federal exemptions.
Bk won't help you a bit unless, you can support yourself post bk. You need to start looking for a better job.
You sound like a candidate for a 7. 'HubIf I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

This might hurt you depending on when you borrowed the money versus when you file for BK. If you borrow the money, then immediately file, the creditor can claim fraud in that you borrowed the money knowing you'd never pay it back.Originally posted by PANewStart View PostH
I have no savings and $5000 in my checking accounts (money I was able to borrow from my last 2 credit cards to live off of and pay utilities). I’m drowning!!

(live email address link removed by moderator. Gi, it's a very bad idea to post your private email address on an open internet forum. You are going to start getting a ton of spam mail on this address because the automatic bots search the Net looking for email addresses posted like yours to add to spam address banks that are sold to every Tom, Dick, and Spam-Harry. In the future, don't post your email address openly like this - it's not safe for you.)Last edited by lrprn; 10-13-2008, 08:19 PM.
