    kind of happy..

So yesterday I took every spare dollar that I could come up with and paid the lawyer the first payment!

It was only 250.00 but at least it is something. I also paid for and completed the 75.00 pre bankruptcy counseling. I also gave my lawyer all of the paperwork that he requested. I was printing the documents for like 5 hrs I swear!

I still need 1250.00 more to pay him in full but it is a start. I have been trying to save that money for months and months.

I also pulled all of my money out of one bank and put it in a new one. I noticed that my old bank/ CU called me like 50 times yesterday.

Can I start telling the creditors that I have retained an attorney now? Or should I wait to speak to my lawyer?

When you retain an attorney, he/she will usually give you his/her card and advise you to give that information to creditors when they call. Since you only gave a partial payment, I would be on the safe side and ask the attorney if you can start giving out his/her contact information to creditors who call you.
