File BK and then given a raise at work

I am in a position where I qualify to file for Chapter 7 b/c my income is below the state's median income (tell me if that is incorrect). However, I may receive a raise at my work in the next few months that will put my income over the median. How will this affect my filing for Chapter 7, if at all?

    Thanks!

Ok, so you need to file NOW so that your raise doesn't affect the median... you want to be below the median, it makes things easier.

A raise isn't ever guaranteed, especially in this economy, so it shouldn't affect anything until it actually HAPPENS.

      Thanks for the reply

So, if I get a raise DURING the process will that change things?

The Trustee will ask you if your income has changed during your 341 meeting. Which usually happens 30 days after you file. So bess get your butt in gear, file and get that 341 over with so you can get your raise after the meeting..then you will be A O K..
But if you get your raise before your 341? your screwed...Can you ask for the raise to be given alittle later? Good luck...

I actually can ask for it later, which I may just do. Thanks!
