Debtmonster...this is from the forum rules..."All BF users agree not to call people names or write a post simply to make a personal attack, or get a negative reaction; this behavior is not allowed on our forum. The use of derogatory language aimed at anyone will be severely dealt with. There is no need to agree with each other, or to even like each other. However, by signing onto BF you agree to treat each member and guest with the respect they deserve. No threats or personal attacks will be allowed."

This thread is being closed as it has gone off topic and has run it's course. If attacks on posters persist with name calling, further action will be taken.

No, I am the "glass half full" person. You people are the ones with the negative comments about my posts. I'm the one trying to be positive here and then you try to wreck my posts with your negative and doubtful comments. Stop turning my posts into debates. It's getting old already.

If you don't like what I have to say, then just keep scrolling and stop adding your drama to it.

    Thanks.

First of all, I'm not in bankruptcy. This is a public forum and is open to anyone.

I know that those deductions are available whether one is 1099 or W-2. I was responding to your comment that someone who is W-2 is paying taxes on their gross earnings and "that's that, end of story." That is not the end of the story because there are plenty of ways to reduce your taxable income besides joining some stupid pyramid scam, I mean scheme.

Can't get that kind of deduction living in a relative's spare bedroom.
Those are standard deductions that you take whether you're working W-2 or 1099. With a 1099 you get a whole bunch of write-offs on top of all of those.

You're rich. You shouldn't even be messing with bankruptcy. Most of us can barely afford one house and you have more than one. I don't feel sorry for you in the least bit. Anyone who can afford more than 1 home, I don't feel any pity for.

You shouldn't even be on a bankruptcy forum to start with. So stop wasting our time and leave.

The paralegal gave me the card. The only time I ever spoke with the attorney was during the original consultation. The paralegals have been handling it from here. They have a stack of cards they give out to new clients telling them where to go for the bankruptcy education.

Why don't these web sites ask what state you're in and tell you that you won't qualify to use their course then? What kind of operation are these people running over there? Geez.

They use an average of those 35 years. One year of making more money is not going to do much for you if the rest of the years are low.

Thanks hereforinfo. I was going to post Debtmonster was incorrect on the 3 years, but I was too tired last night to argue with him. I'll just say this, if you attempt to under report your Earnings on Schedule C of any tax return, it comes back to bite ya in the rear when it comes time for you to retire.

Dang! I miss working as an Accountant. It was a profession I truly enjoyed. And to think getting rear ended in 3/05 took it away from me as I'm deemed 100% disabled. Dh's health is not in the best shape, but yesterday he said he enjoys driving the big truck all over the country. He was in Eastern Kentucky this last week and said the mountains were beautiful. But, he said he would go nuts if he had to stay at home all the time.

I gave the EXACT same website to pre and post bankruptcy classes for each district and state in Post #19 of this thread dated yesterday at 11:35 am for LDL. I think people need to take the time to read the Entire Thread. Here is my post.

    LDL:

Here is the website for your bankruptcy classes:

Official website of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). DOJ’s mission is to enforce the law and defend the interests of the United States according to the law; to ensure public safety against threats foreign and domestic; to provide federal leadership in preventing and controlling crime; to seek just punishment for those guilty of unlawful behavior; and to ensure fair and

If you State has more than one district, 'Google' (my best friend) your city, state and add bankruptcy on the end. Google should bring up your District/State's website.

In Arkansas, we have two districts...Eastern and Western.

    Luci

Yes, last Sept. our BK Attorney told us who he recommended for the Pre and post bankruptcy classes. Well, guess what? I went to the website I posted in #19 of this thread and this company is no longer listed. They no longer offer the courses. Personally, I wouldn't rely on my Attorney to get this information. Why? Read my next paragraph

As the above website is the 'Official Website' it is not up to date. Click on it as it states as of 'March 2009'. I would recommend to Everyone to call the company and make sure they are still approved in your district/State for these courses, BEFORE taking them.

Just to qualify further, it must be approved by your DISTRICT. Most states have multiple districts, and each district may not have the same approved providers.
