    Missouri Wildcard Exemptions: Three in My Family

    Missouri Wildcard Exemptions: Three in My Family

    From the NOLO book:

    Wildcard: $1,250 of any property if head of family, else $600;
    head of family may claim additional $350 per child.
    513.430(3); 513.440

    It is me, my spouse, and my daughter. We are married and filing BK jointly. Does this mean that for the wildcard exemptions we may exempt $1,250 for me, $600 for my spouse, and $350 for our daughter? THANKS!!!

    I am sure about the $1,250 and the $350, but I am not too sure if I am understanding the $600 correctly.

      INDNH, please stop posting multiple threads asking if individual MO exemptions can be doubled or not. You've gotten as much information as we can give you from the most knowledgeable souls on this board, including a real-life bk lawyer.

      If you really can't make yourself take one free initial consultation from a MO bk lawyer, then you have two choices - pay for a half hour of a MO bk lawyer's time (probably $100-200) or you are just going to have to take a leap of faith.

      And by the way, reading the statute you posted, it's pretty obvious that the answer to your question is yes.

      I'm closing this thread to further posting. If anyone has an answer whether MO bk filers can double any of the exemptions, please post it on one of the other threads that IDNH has started.
      I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
