I live with my uncle and don't have to pay rent. I pay for the kero heating oil costs each year which comes out to about $100 a month. I pay for my own food and the water bill each month. I've talked to a lawyer and she made it sound like I needed to pay for more around the house. Would it be wrong to say that I pay the cable bill also in my means test. She was putting things in my means test like eating out lunch each day for $5 a day. One more question, I have credit cards that my mom and uncle help me pay part of. Can I still file these on my bankruptcy? I haven't decided if I want to file yet or not.

are the credit cards only in your name and they just help you make payments or are their names on the accounts as well? If the accounts are only in your name you should be able to file those.Filed Chapter 7 7/24/2009

The lawyer is helping you pre-plan a bankruptcy by encouraging you to have sufficient expenses so you won't show any disposable income on the required forms (Means Test and Schedules) if you do decide to file bankruptcy.Originally posted by shannonrm13 View PostI live with my uncle and don't have to pay rent. It's not wrong if you really do pay the cable billWould it be wrong to say that I pay the cable bill also in my means test.
As long as the credit cards are in your name, then you can file to wipe out what is owed on them.I have credit cards that my mom and uncle help me pay part of. Can I still file these on my bankruptcy?
How much credit card debt do you have? Do you have other debts you are currently paying as well? What's your current income from all sources for the last six months? What state do you live in?
