Newbie-Sent 1st Round of Paperwork Today

    Married. Filing separately. Ohio.
Median income for family of 4: we are literally about 125.00/month over.
Did the online NOLO Means Test and I'm pretty sure we will qualify for Ch. 7 after all expenses are deducted (assuming I did everything right).
    ~FINGERS CROSSED~

Not glad to be in this situation but 'glad' to know I am not alone.

Do you mean that each of you is filing a separate individual Ch 7? Have you filed yet? If you already have filed, did you file the case(s) on your own or did you have a bankruptcy lawyer?

You certainly aren't alone, that's for sure. Ask any questions you want - we'll do our best to help you sort things out.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

    06/01/06 - Filed Ch 13
    06/28/06 - 341 Meeting
    07/18/06 - Confirmation Hearing - not confirmed, 3 objections
10/05/06 - Hearing to resolve 2 trustee objections
01/24/07 - Judge dismisses mortgage company objection
    09/27/07 - Confirmed at last!
06/10/11 - Trustee confirms all payments made
    08/10/11 - DISCHARGED !

    10/02/11 - CASE CLOSED
Countdown: 60 months paid, 0 months to go

My husband is not filing bk. I am filing on my own.

The paperwork I sent the lawyer is everything he requested in order to do the Means Test for me.

To say I am anxious would be the understatement of the year

The hardest part is the realization that you must make the decision to bk. After you, many others will follow as long as we still have "shovel ready jobs" with no funds from 'Bammy's stash.

Welcome to a very kind and helpful community. Peace will come in about 90 days for you. 'Hub
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

Update: lawyer sent letter yesterday saying as long as we have two vehicles (which we do) we qualify for Ch. 7!!

Now, he wants some more documents and an estimate of federal/state refunds this year. I've got Federal pretty much done and estimated. Turbo Tax won't have Ohio forms until the 16th. Boo.

I am relieved and just want to get a move on with this!!
