Never thought it was so hard to give something back

I never imagined in my right mind that it was so hard to give something back. I have a car that I decided to surrender in my BK which I was discharged back in January 2010. I call the lender, get put on hold for 30 minutes, then transferred, asked if I want to keep the car and the advised they have to mail a form out to me, then mail it back before they can look at having it picked up. I then question after the form is recieved, how long for the company to come and get the vehicle? They don't have an answer. Jeesh if the car had good tires on it I would be driving it still. Oh well let's see what happens. I'm just venting

It happens. Sometimes they just don't want it back. That leaves you in a bind because they won't give you the title, but won't take it back either.

well this is a 99' Mercedes SL500. I see it books in fair condition trade in at $12,000 KBB. It does need some work, was in an accident, needs tires BAD, etc. My loan was $16500 left to pay. I'm going to go wash it and put it out of my way so its ready to go if they come sometime in the future. I thought this was just crazy!

me being bored did go wash it and park it. i cant drive it as the tires are ready to blow. i called them again and they are mailing a surrender form that i fax back to them. I thought it was surrendered in BK? I didn't reaffirm. Who knows. Hopefully next week they will get it from what I have been told.

no i bought the car after BK discharge. I'm driving a Honda Civic SI. My father bought the car cash for me, no loans.

Go get you some decent used tires for cheap (they are all over out there) and drive that puppy silly if they don't want it back.

haha the tires on this car aren't cheap. they're 19's and low profile. don't worry, i had my fun with the car knowing i was turning it in. i smoked them bald

The car loan should show as IIB (included in bankruptcy).

thanks for the info! i pulled my credit from myfico a month ago but it doesnt show accounts included in BK. they all just show $0 and says I have a public record (ch 7 bk). is there a better source for pulling credit?
