My discharge date was yesterday.... no report yet.... it is torture!!!!! cant wait to see those words! "discharged and closed!" Just a question.... when are you totally free to live your life and not look back????? other than staying on your credit report... is the scrutiny over? not that we had much thank heavens. It just seems so many people have really had a ROUGH go.... This Forum has been such a help!

Was 1-10 the last day for creditors to object? My last day for creditors to object was 1-7 and got got discharged 1-10. It takes a few days, and then a few weeks after that for close in a standard situation I think.

Hi birdo,

If you were a no-asset case and haven't heard anything from the trustee by now, you are 99% of the way home. Next thing to look for is the trustees report; you want to see 'no distribution' and something showing they are done with you. Then discharge order, then close.

These take amazingly variable amounts of time, from days to months, people blame the court backlog from all the cases being filed but I think it has to do with the phase of the moon and how the tea leaves are arranged in the bottom of your cup.

So might be some patience needed, but you are a proud graduate of the 60 day club...Yeah!! Whooo hooo!! Its all administrative from here on.

If you were honest on everything, when you hit discharge you are free to go....except inheriting a big chunk of dough, don't do that for 6 months

The BK stays on your report....but a lot of other stuff may be there too, pull the big three and clean them up.

If someone hasn't scrutinized you by now, you can lift your head up and walk proud!

Thanks Tom... yes we were honest and our our last paper work was filed on fri the 7th. which was our reaffirmation on our mortgage. Otherwise pretty uneventful case.
The trustee report was filed the same day as our 341 for no asset. Soooo ready to move forward! :0)
