Tax refund after chap 7 BK discharge

The Trustee in our case told us he would take the prorated amount of our tax return. Our case was discharged and closed and then reopened 5 mos later because of the tax return. He specifically made a note of it at our meeting and also sent a letter reminding us to send a copy of the return to him.

My trustee never mentioned or asked about tax refunds at 341. Oh also I did not work prior to filing bk and only found a job after filing. If they prorate, then they shouldn't be able to take anything on income that is earned after filing bk right?
