Chapter 13- Chapter 7 Convert or dismiss and refile?

We are changing from 13 to a 7. We are down to one income and we want to include our house in bankruptcy. Is there are reason we can not convert and amend the plan. Our lawyer is saying we have to dismiss and refile for a 7.- COSTING US TONS OF MONEY!!

Did you ask your attorney for a reason as to why you have to let your case get dismissed and then file a new case as a Chapter 7? If not, then you should. Once you know the reason then you can ask us if it sounds like a plan.

I wouldn't be able to convert because I filed chapter 7 seven years ago so if I need to ever do that I'm assuming I'll have to be dismissed and refile.
