    relief from automatic stau

If a creditor requests a relief from stay, is that something you are notified of or is it done without your knowledge.

Also, if that is done is it usually requested right away or do they wait awhile?

Relief motions are usually filed within several weeks of filing. I would say that they typically start arriving 3-5 weeks after filing (some earlier). You will be notified by mail (and your attorney as well). The entire reason to file it quickly, is so not to wait another 60 or more days to be able to repossess or foreclose upon collateral. Some creditors will just wait but others will almost immediately file for relief.

You can fight it if you have a valid reason to deny the relief requested.
