We are still in the consultation process of bankruptcy and interviewing lawyers so to speak. I found this topic useful because one of our car payments, which is in my name only, is through Chase. We have our checking through Chase as well and our payment is automatically debited from our account. This is the car we are thinking about giving up because we only really need one car. I appreciate the input and will put this on the list of questions for our future lawyer. I've always had a good relationship with Chase but have been fairly disappointed with some thing that have happened with them recently. I will have to look into opening a new account maybe.

just a suggestion....you're relationship with Chase will immediately change as soon as you file. you are best to be pro-active and open another account somewhere else as soon as possible. usually a small community bank is very safe, they love your business and are usually good to work with after the bk. also you may want to look into credit unions. we opened an account with each prior to our filing.

There is a local credit union my job has a relationship with and I will open an account with them and use them as our primary bank. I will keep suntrust opened until after the bk and close it once our bk is finished. Thanks!

sounds like a good plan! by the way center state is really bk friendly we have found, i know it's a small little bank here in florida, but we LOVE them! then we also opened the other account with another "larger" credit union as well.

i'm sure you'll have no problems!

          best of luck!
