So THAT is why we got a credit at the beginning of 2009 for nearly 1K. They were returning the deposit we paid in 2007 plus interest. I had never understood that.

well at least with fp&l they were honest enough to give your deposit back in a timely fashion! i hear you about having the choices we were in the exact position where we lived in nj njp&l on one side of the street and then a local co-op electric company up the road. actually we had the co-op at our first home, it was great, then we moved into a bigger house and our bill double along with the company change, of course the house was bigger as well, but the increase was substantial.
