Credit Application Question - Post Chapter 7

    Hi,

I am going to look for a car loan; my question is that my mortgage was discharged in a 2009 Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Since then I've continued to make payments.

Do I need to report this mortgage on my credit application if it has been discharged?

Typically, they ask if you own a home and the payment amount. Just list that you own the property and your payment amount. They are really just looking to check your ratios; the ratio of your debt to income. Qualifying for the automobile loan will likely be entirely based on your credit score first, then your ratios (if the lender even cares about ratios).
