Good luck to all who are doing the 341 meeting this week. It is pretty much a breeze. I thought I was going to pass out waiting for my name to be called. I was almost the last person called. While I lost all track of time while being questioned, I figure it was 10-15 minutes. (Most of that time was asking the standard question).

Think back to your own 341 meetings - were there any questions asked that caught you off guard or you didn't expect?

Thanks for the good luck wishes for the three of us having our 341 meetings this coming week. We'll post the results afterwards.

See the sticky about the questions the trustees are supposed to ask. The only ones that will catch you off guard is if there is a specific question about your expenses--which will be very individual since it is on a case by case basis.

Asked about how I came up with valuation of a vacant lot I have. Asked about payments to creditors that I made which were over 600 bucks. All other questions were just the basic questions.

                        Debrief

My 341 was 1st thing this morning.

My atty is friends with the trustee, so that made things a bit easier.

She asked the standard questions. I had to make a couple of minor changes regarding the name and address of the bank that holds my car note and the proceeds from a stock sale. She had no problem with either one.

She then asked me how I came up with my 6mos income for the means test, because she came up with a lower figure. I didn't argue the point one bit, since it benefits me. My attorney chimed in saying that we may have upped it a little just to be safe. The trustee then said "It's not about being safe, it's about being accurate."

The trustee then smiled at me, asked if there was anything else, then instructed my attorney to file an amendment to reflect my current income.

                        Meeting adjourned.

                        Swift and painless.

I found it very helpful that I went down last week and watched a couple of 341's. I was able to pull up my trustee's calendar on the bankruptcy court website. I knew exactly what was going to happen and in what order. When you have that working for you, it makes things very easy.

Now to kick back with a Cuban and some Crusian rum and let the 60 days float by.

                          cc2285,

Hopefully you will see and hear "DISCHARGED" at the end of that 60 days.....

                          Hang in there...............

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

Congrats. Just wondering, why would you have upped your income to be safe? Do you sometimes work overtime? or on commission?

I sometimes get quarterly bonuses ($25-$100, pocket change).
Since she only has my pay stubs from the last three months, she didn't count the bonus I rec'd in March. I've done so many calculations the last few months, I couldn't tell ya were I got the original figure from.

We're only talking a $30/mo difference, but if she wants us to change it, we'll change it.
