    World Wide Financial Bank

I had a card with Victoria Secret and spent a lot of time dealing with their collectors, World Wide Financial (I think that's the name). I was attempting to work out a payment plan, and the agent agreed I would pay $150 a month (which was a stretch on my budget). She wanted me to give her my checking account, but I said I didn't have one (thank goodness I didn't give her the number). Well, I started getting collection notices again after two months because they marked in their computer I would be paying $150 every two weeks (which I never agreed to!). I just had to file bankruptcy so I am not dealing with their calls anymore, but has anyone had a collector do that before? My debt was only $700 in the first place.

    Thanks.

yep...happens frequently...they'll try to draft more than you allow. That's why you never give them your bank account info over the phone, and don't send them a personal check...You go get a money order from walmart or the post office and send THAT to them.

$750 from VC is probably nothing other than flannel jammies. Just having some fun. The other thing to do when you initially set up agreements over the phone is RECORD EVERY WORD if allowed in your state. Some folks argue that a recording has little applicablility in court, but if you agree to a verbal contract and you follow through on your end, I argue that the breach of contract is now not due to you. in fact, you might file a local suit for a breach of contract. Heck, anyting is worth the attempt.

LOL! $700 of stuff from Vic's Secret is probably 5 items...very overpriced store that is getting hit hard since people usually don't buy that stuff in a bad economy. Maybe when the drop prices you can get 7 items for the $700! :-)

WOW!!! $700??!! That's a whole lotta nothin' for $700!! Ok...I'm just kidding too...I couldnt resist!

But seriously...WWFNB is the same bank that holds the credit cards for lots of women's apparel, including Chadwick's of Boston and Brylane Home. I have dealt with them in the past and they are shisty. WWFNB is the bank that continued to report my highest balance, as the current balance due well after the discharge. I was nice...called them...wrote them letters...nada. I got smart and disputed with the bureaus, providing the creditor matrix, the certificate of service, and a copy of the discharge. Fixed almost immediately. The kicker is.. WWFNB didnt even bother to file a claim during the BK to get paid.
