I have a question about that... if I wanted to file a complaint against that debt collector, would I contact the Minnesota Attorney General's office or would I just contact the Attorney General's office in my state, Arizona? The world's simplest C & D Letter:
"I demand that you cease and desist from any communication with me."
Notice that I never actually mention or acknowledge the debt in my letter.

At the least, send AFNI a letter saying you are aware of a recent state ruling and are excercising caution related to their claim. Tell them you are contacting you own state AG's office for counsel. While this may not have much legal teeth, it may set the JDB back on their heels. State suits such as might tend to snowball on the JDB.
