    Top 10 Worst Collection Agancies

I am not endorsing this website in any way, but here is a list of the worst collection agencies. There is some interesting info on collection agencies. I found this website while I was exploring BK.

    #7 is after me.

I had one of them from the list contact me a while ago about an old debt. While I was talking to them I did a search on Google for their company name and found that site... Amazing how an phone and internet connection can help you out these days...

The first thing on the site was that one of their tactics is to threaten "Arbitration" and demand money to stop their actions against you... and that is exactly what they did to me.

They wanted me to give them my checking account number and information to take the money out of my account or I would face Arbitration (ooohhhh i was sooo scared... LOL). I couldn't help but laugh at them... like I was just going to give it to them just for the asking...

"oh we will only take out what we are supposed to and only when we are supposed to... we promise sir..."

        Yeah right...

I told them I'd send a money order and they wanted me to send it over night... the debt was a year old and they couldn't wait another 2 days? After another disagreement I told them where to stick their Arbitration threats and told them I would be sending a C & D letter to them... never heard from them again.

Bill collectors were pretty good entertainment... they might sound threatening but if you listen closely you can actually hear the minimum wage earners flipping through their training manual as they talk to you.

I don't know how a person could be a bill collector. No way I could do those kind of things to people I know are just having financial difficulties and treating them like criminals. Or trying to threaten them out of money they obviously don't have.

I've applied to 3 collections jobs in the last two months. Have to apply to a minimum of 3 to 5 jobs for unemployment. Which I thought I was going to be denied but got the first check for yesterday.

Anyway, these companies claim that you can make 60K doing collections.

Don't know if I could do collections because I would probably be recogmending people declare bankruptsy.

How do you treat the people you call? Do you get aggressive with them? Or do you have more understanding since you've been in this situation?

Personally speaking, I couldn't do that kind of job. Not after going through all this.

everyone of them is different. depends on if they are good or not. typically, its the lamers that dont know what else to do. the best ones become your friend first. and move in for the attack afterwards.

I'm not in collections I just applied for some of the jobs.

Have to apply for 3 to 5 jobs to get unemployment.

Want a nonstressfull job after my last ordeal.

Got my 3 year licence to sub teach so I may not get desperate enough to do collections.

I was just saying that I applied for the jobs and they claim you can make 60K a year.

I was joking with my wife that I would tell people to pay up or declare bankrupcy.

I'm making some money with the lotto deal but not enough to pay 2 mortages.

The rental unit is about a $300 a month loss right now due to the soft rental market due to all the new appartments and houses being built. After 9 months of no renter we settled for less then mortage payment is for rent.

Losing 4K a month in income due to my employer being unethical is hard to recover from.

The only companies calling me for interviews are sales jobs and I already have a marketing gig.

Well now that the sub licence is approved I'm going to apply for some sub gigs But I know starting out the gigs will be sporatic until I prove myself to the schools.
