What about the credit union where I have my car loan? They *required* me to have an account with them in order to get the car loan. Would that be safe? Or does it need to be a bank or CU totally unrelated?
You are only required to have a share account. It usually only need $5 in it to stay a member. I have 2 savings accounts and one checking account specifically so I can shut down 1 checking and 1 savings account and maintain my $5 "share account" with my new CU.
It doesn't matter for Chapter 7 or Chapter 13.
Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10) Status: (Auto) Discharged and Closed! 5/10
