Absolutely awesome with the fax stuff. I love it. Maybe I'll come up with something as awe-inspiring!

I had a JDB that figured out my fax number and sent me a fax every evening, they called me during the day and even emailed. Since their fax number was on the top of the fax I waited until Friday really late, then I printed a reversed (black background with white text) "Don't Fax Me!" message on several pages of letter paper. I taped each page together and the then taped the bottom of the last to the top of the first... I let that puppy run all night. Scratch one toner cartridge! Never got another fax from that number.

We have a home phone line, but no phone connected to it. LOL. I used to have it connected, but the voicemails with the auto dialer got on my nerves, so I just unhooked. No one we care about knows our home number.

I almost wish I had though about the fax idea. That's awesome. Too late now. I haven't had a call in 2 weeks and don't expect any more forever.

Today, though, a new call! That's right, after all this time American Express got on the band wagon, even left a message on their initial call. The only hold out now is Chase, but I know they're coming (on a side note, while I have two CCs with them, both of them have, by far, the lowest balances).

As it is, Discover calls constantly, leaves a message every so often (usually a fairly lengthy message that ends up being deleted), and does not block their number. American Express just started calling, does not block their number, and left a message on the first call. BOA sometimes calls every hour, sometimes once or twice a day, they do NOT list their number, only "unknown," has never left a message but did, once, send a text message of all things.

Seriously, I truly do not mind the phone ringing, at least not yet. I can deal with that. What I DO mind is on those times I answer, they are NEVER there, ever. That gets to me.
yes, it's those darn "recorded" messages and "auto" dialing...what a pain.

i especially LOVED the ones that want you to HOLD while they GET someone to get nasty with you!

we had one that told us to stop buying food to pay them...i just had to laugh and told them to get a REAL job and life and maybe that would scare someone else but they were barking up the wrong tree...it's just some of things they said that are terrible.

but you're right, those auto calls are really bad!

Thanks! I just got a call that we are filing today! I should have a case # soon to give the callers.

I have been answering some calls at home because I don't want them calling my ex's relatives (same last name) or my work. I live in a very small town where people love to spread bad news. I always think people are nicer when I go to "big cities".

However, Discover has no officially left voice mail. It was a nice little 34 second one from a lady claiming that she is not a solicitor, insisting she is not actually, and stated that not only did she wish for me to call Discover, they are REQUIRING me to call. They are worried about my account with them and need to hear from me ASAP.

Needless to say, the voice mail got deleted, I did not return the call, and they ended up calling two more times. What upsets me most is, as I said in a previous post, I *HAVE* answered the phone a few times from them. Said hello, waited a few seconds only to hear nothing. That upsets me more than anything. Oh well.

Still a good day all around. I want to say this again to everyone here or anyone who reads this in the future: it gets better day by day, and quite literally EACH day brings me one step closer to being able to file. That feels incredible and come the end of January when it is filed, I think that I will throw a party. Sounds nice.

i know it's hard when that phone is ringing off the hook...and you know we were much like you in the "beginning" stages...oh i answered the phone and explained our terrible woes to them...i followed it up with a registered letter about our situation and asked please if they could just work with us during our hard times...and the fact that BOA...we had been with them over 50 years really...because when i was a little girl i had my very first savings with them in san fran....

they SOUNDED like they understood...but they didn't care about anything more than collecting their monies.

i even can understand THEIR side of the situation. however, what i CANNOT understand is WHY raise someone's interest rate to 39.9% and CUT our credit line they KNEW we were using to pay a doctor....right in the middle of the transaction...why would anyone do that???

so, we or i got calous about the situation. i got nasty and didn't pick up the phone, and if i did i wished them the best to them and theirs for everything they are doing and don't want to be around when the karma hits the fan!!

i know it's NOT the person at the end of the phone...but sometimes it IS...they are nasty and rude.

pika...just hold on....usually the calls are less during the holiday time...and i hope for your sake that's the case...it will be over soon enough for you!!!

I cannot wait for them to stop. January/February for my filing cannot come soon enough. It's so strange that it truly now has been over a month since I used any CCs AND stopped paying on them. It 'feels' like it's going to take forever, but every single day I am dealing with it better and the time is going by more rapidly.

Today, though, I would like to thank BOA for not calling more than twice. lol

I'm surprised, though, that Chase and American Express have yet to call or send a letter at all.
yeah, it must be that "auto" call stuff...they ring and ring...and the recording says....if this so and so....please hang on...if it's NOT please press 3....if you are a relative...press 10...NO kidding on that....it's ridiculous!! there is usually no one on the other side of the "auto" call systems they use.

don't worry...LOL!! i'm certain chase and amex won't be far behind...just try not to answer.

we have century link and the phone system we have allows us to "block" calls on the home number while verizon allows us to "block" on the cell phones. that's a bill help if you need it.

it will be over soon!! so high tight!
