I have thought about this and I guess my conclusion is that, although this is true, I am hoping to maybe stay with family for a little while, we were going to TX anyway to visit my mom who was just diagnosed with cancer, (yes, our world is literally falling apart). Hopefully stay to visit there a while and just put our stuff in storage till we figure out where we are going to build my next business.
Then possibly rent until I build up my assets enough that I won't have a problem getting a home on my own.
I do understand that a mort. co will look at dh's history but with the type of business that we do I know that we will be able to come back in a yr or so and if we have to, put a large chunk of a dwn payment to get into a house with no problem.
I think this is what is so devistating to us is that one day we were very well off and in the snap of a finger we are homeless.
Yes people, this can happen when you trust too much We are miserable!

So sorry to hear about your mom, busted. Hope she has good healthcare and lives many more years to enjoy being with your family.

You do have a plan - that's a great way to dig in your toes and start inching back up the financial slope again. Hang in there - work with your lawyer to find some breathing room for yourselves. This too shall pass - not nearly as fast as you want - but things will get better.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
